Royal Society Leverhulme Trust Senior Research Fellowship

Prof F M Danson

Congratulations to Professor Mark Danson who has been awarded a prestigious 12 months Royal Society Leverhulme Trust Senior Research starting in July.

The focus of the work will be on further developing and testing the Salford Advanced Laser Canopy Analyser (SALCA) to track biomass and phenological changes in forest and woodland canopies. Mark, and PhD researcher Lucy Walker, will take part in a laser scanner inter-comparison study in Australia in August this year, working with researchers from NASA, CSIRO, University of Boston and University of Queensland, and in 2014 conduct a year-long phenology study, using SALCA, at Delamere Forest, Cheshire
